What to Expect:
You’ll lie on a table that slides into a tunnel-like scanner. It’s painless, but you’ll need to stay still. The machine may make loud tapping noises—ear protection is provided. A contrast agent may be used for clearer images.
Preparation:
Generally minimal. Avoid metal objects and let your provider know if you have implants, pacemakers, or metal fragments in your body.
